Our city is facing hard times and harder choices. The difficult conditions we all confront have revealed the weaknesses and shortcomings in our city’s government and economy. Now is the time we must introduce better leadership for Sacramento. I bring a solid business background, a lifetime in the Sacramento community, and a commitment to accountability and results. We cannot leave our city to be run as it has in the past. I'm an independent candidate, a businessman, a responsible Democrat, a family man, and I'm not a politician.

The 5th District
Kasey Cotulla is the only candidate to promise not to treat the council as a political step stool.

Media Coverage

City Spending
At the end of July city council approved a 9% rate increase for this year and 9% next year. (Next year residents will be paying 19% more in utility fees.) The city council approved the city's budget for the new fiscal year. Read about the issues that were debated. The impact of these decisions kicked in on the first of July. No members voted against this budget.
The chairman of the Sacramento Utilities Rate Advisory Commission resigned because of the size of the proposed rate increase from his committee.
